Scott is one of the owners of the company. He began playing Magic: the Gathering in March 1995, and from the beginning has been a complete enthusiast for it since that first 8 hour night he played it in his college dorm room. From that time he has worked in and around the game in almost every facet imaginable.
As a player, he has been a regular on the PTQ circuit. He has countless top 8 appearances, including 2 victories. As far as Grand Prixs go, he has attended roughly 10, having made a Day 2 appearance in 3 of the last 4 he has attended. At Grand Prix Las Vegas he finally broke through with a Top 8 appearance. On the Pro Tour Circuit, he has 3 appearances, with the best finish coming in Pro Tour - Osaka, finishing #128. If you want to check out his DCI rating, check out #10737 (listed as #20010737). Scott has also played on the Vs. Pro Circuit, and is currently qualified for another PC.
Scott has been Judging since the Magic system's first public offering at Pro Tour Dallas in 1997. He's run and officiated many, many tournaments. He has also judged on the Pro Tour circuit on five different occasions.
As a journalist, he has written for several publications over the years. Starting with an e-zine The Vault in 1997, he has worked on several Web sites providing content, interviews and more. He still writes occasionally and provides direction for Pojo's Magic: The Gathering magazine.
Scott's wife Christine has been involved with Magic since 2000, and involved with TCGs since 1999. Since then she has taken to gaming like a fish to water. Within the first two months of playing, she got her first Magic top 8 PTQ finish, the top seed in an Extended qualifier. Four months later, she top 8'd again in an Invasion limited qualifier. She also played at the first VS Pro Circuit event.
In
Shuffle & Cut Games, besides being a co-owner, she is also our creative director.
As her husband does not have the most stylish tastes in the world, she makes sure the business looks classy and
professional on most every level. If you win anything on eBay from us, you'll probably be dealing with her.
She helps keep everything running nice and smooth and keeps the rest of us in line.
Matt joined
Shuffle & Cut Games in May 2003 as a partner. Formerly, he was the owner of
HouseOfMTG.com, which he had run successfully for about 18 months. Before that, he was the manager for a gaming
store for 7 years. He's been playing the game since Legends and has been dealing in it for almost as long. Matt keeps the shipping end of our website running fast and smoothly, and makes sure your orders are shipped the same or next business day whenever possible.
Bill is our friend and full-time employee at
Shuffle & Cut Games. You can often see him with us at our shops, and he often helps
keep the shops going when we take our business on the road. He is the one responsible for keeping our huge inventory of purchased single cards flowing into stock. He is also our local walking rules encyclopedia
as a current Level II DCI Sanctioned Judge. If we don't know a technical ruling, you can be assured Bill does.
